PRIDEENS TAKE A STEP TOWARDS MATHEMATICS WITH THE NUMBER 6!

Number recognition is the ability to identify and name basic numerals. Recognition of numbers supports the development of other number skills, such as counting. Counting enables the children to quantify. The identification, recognition, and quantification for number six was taken up through the story of a boy named Rohan, who went to the school on the bus with his six friends and six puppets. Prideens worked their fine motor and creative skills through flour tracing and forming the numeral symbol with clay. To strengthen the symbol object relationship, children enjoyed activities like a dummy bus ride, floating six ducklings in the water, coloring in the six trucks and six cars, and reciting the rhyme six little ducks that I once knew.
