BENEFITS OF COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

When we encourage our students for collaborative learning it not just helps them solve problems but also builds a deeper understanding of concepts in them. Let us take a look below on how collaborative learning can help improve students results at school.

What it does!

Leads to success!

·         Collaborative learning when practiced well, helps the students to be steady and gain the skills of identifying their peer strength. Not just that, it also helps in recognizing if the students are going on the right track or not.
·         Give your students a chance to grow together, develop an understanding of concepts and get to know each other in a better way when at learning.

How to do it!

Build strong collaborative learning!

When a teacher assigns task in groups it tends to be harder than the worksheets that are assigned to individual students. This makes them realize that they can easily solve the problem they are assigned in groups than they could not have solved as individuals.

Focus on the process and not on the right conclusion!

·         When you sit together in groups for math class and given problems to be solved, you find multiple answers to a question. There are various ways to prove L.H.S is equal to R.H.S.
·         In English class, it is the easier to solve problems in groups. There are a number of words that can help you write one answer differently. Every member of the group would come up with different right answers.

Students teach one another!

When working in groups, every student comes up with a variety of ideas and concepts. This, in turn, encourages the classmates to inspire each other at a task. So, the next time if some students are not able to work on a task individually he could better be at groups and make the project successful.
Teachers at Presidium encourage their students to work in groups because they understand the benefits of collaborative learning. This has made Presidium stand amongst the best schools in Faridabad, Haryana.

Negative appreciation works!

When you are assigned a task that has to be completed in a group, you tend to mix the levels of competency together and present it as one project.  If you have received negative feedback on a task you did individually and now given a chance to present the same as a group, this is your time to do the best. With the help of your classmates, you'd be able to deal with the problems better than that you did individually.
